Phi Nu Policies

Phi Nu celebrates family-friendly nudism/naturism. We also intend to be a healthy, long-lasting club. In that spirit, we present these policies:

DRESS
Unless stated otherwise, nudity is the expected norm at Phi Nu functions.

Reasonable accommodation will be made for:
1) a woman's period (bikini bottoms or shorts may be worn, although are not required)
2) environmental and safety factors (temperature, sun exposure, arc welding, etc.)
3) newcomers adjusting to social nudity in their first few visits.

The following are prohibited:
1) wearing lingerie or other sexually-oriented clothing
2) wearing swimsuits or other clothing in a pool or hot tub (except for women during their period)

Special arrangements may sometimes be arranged with club leadership when a couple wishes to attend on an ongoing basis, but one wishes to remain dressed.

You are expected to carry a towel and must use it for sitting on.

SEXUALITY & PHYSICAL AFFECTION
Nudism is nonsexual social nudity. Phi Nu is a family-friendly club. Therefore, the following are prohibited:
1) Real or suggested sexual activity
2) Sexual advances, whether desired or not
3) "Dirty jokes", sexual innuendo, and double entendres
4) Discussion of sexual activity
5) Excessive displays of physical affection. (Among the willing, hugging is encouraged and actions like holding hands, kissing, or sharing a backrub are fine. However, actions like full-body caressing, extended deep kissing , and 'dirty dancing' are inappropriate.)

ALCOHOL & OTHER SUBSTANCES
Although a drink or two may be appropriate at some functions, most Phi Nu functions will not involve alcohol.

The following are all prohibited:
1) Illegal Drugs
2) Abuse of Legal Drugs
3) Drunkeness, or any boorish alcohol-induced behavior

SMOKING
Phi Nu functions are non-smoking.
However, in most cases a smoking area will be designated (although this may involve dressing and/or going outside).

WEAPONS
Weapons are prohibited at Phi Nu functions.

CHILDREN
("children" refers to all those under the age of 18. "parent" refers to a parent or legal guardian.)
We highly encourage families to participate together. Minor children are not only permitted at most functions, but admitted free of charge! However, for safety's sake we have the following rules:
1) Children may only attend Phi Nu functions with a parent.
2) Parents are at all times responsible for the supervision, safety, and behavior of their children.
3) No adult, other than a parent, may ever be alone with a child. (Those violating this rule will forfeit their membership and/or be barred from any further Phi Nu functions.)
4) Any suspected inappropriate behavior towards children will be reported to the authorities.
5) Any individuals leading children's activities must first complete a police record check and a child abuse background check.
6) No photography of children, except by the child's parent or by an authorized club photographer with written permission from the parent and the parent's physical presence.

PHOTOGRAPHY
1) In general, photography may only be done by a club-designated photographer.
2) All photography requires the permission of the club, and the consent of all being photographed.
3) No photographs may be published (in print, online, or otherwise), nor otherwise distributed, without the consent of the individuals in the photograph.
4) No photography of children, except by the child's parent or by an authorized club photographer with written permission from the parent and the parent's physical presence. (see "CHILDREN" section for definitions)

GENERAL ETIQUETTE
Good behavior and good manners show respect for others. At Phi Nu functions, you are expected to refrain from foul language, mean-spirited comments, disruptive behavior, and general rudeness.

GENDER BALANCE
Phi Nu is:
1) woman-owned
2) affirming of all body types
3) family-friendly
4) committed to enforcing rules of appropriate conduct, should it ever become necessary.
It is our hope this will make Phi Nu naturally gender balanced.
It is our policy that all Phi Nu members will be able to attend all Phi Nu functions.
However, we reserve the right to set a gender-balancing ceiling on Phi Nu membership, and to limit attendance of non-member singles at Phi Nu functions.

RESERVATIONS / FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS
Some functions will require advanced reservations and/or a financial commitment. It is expected that those making such commitments will honor them, barring the most exceptional of circumstances. (Even then, some financial obligation may remain.)

FUNCTIONS AT CLUBS AND PRIVATE HOMES
When a function is held at a club or private home, the owners have the right to add any additional policies which they deem necessary.

CONFIDENTIALITY
While Phi Nu encourages nudists/naturists to be open about their involvement, it is recognized that some individuals have concerns about possible social consequences. Therefore, those involved in Phi Nu and its functions will keep confidential the identity of fellow members and participants, unless prior written permission is obtained.

VIOLATIONS
Violations of any policy may have consequences ranging from a verbal warning to permanent expulsion from Phi Nu. When appropriate, national nudist/naturist organizations or law-enforcement agencies may be notified.

POLICY CHANGES
These policies are subject to change without notice.
